thegreatlongnose replied to your post:I very quickly lost all motivation for my assignment, and just ate a bowl of icecream.
sigh I know what mean about a fail day… I sleep most of it XP How is your 800 words going?
I’ve collected all of the quotes I’ll need/use/refer to…
I’ve referenced (as much as I can atm)
I’ve set out a structure and dot points that I want to cover…
And I’ve written a 90w introduction.
That’s all though.
(mind, with all that in the one document - dot points, quotes, referencing etc - I’m up to 1124w. haha. Mostly I just have to link the quotes together! :P)
I’m not even finished the last section (200w-ish?) of the FIRST HALF of my assignment (SUPPOSED to be 1500w) and I’m up to 1800?!
I have to write another 1000 for the second part, and it supposed to be 2500 all up! I can get away with 2750 (+10%) but sheesh!
Hmmmm. I don’t want to cut out anything! when I cut out things I get in trouble for not including them!
I don’t even know why I have such an aversion to it.
It’s about children’s literature. Seriously. PICTURE BOOKS.
“Critical Analysis of Picture Books”
And I’ve chosen to study Shaun Tan’s books. Because they’re amazing.
But it’s 2500 words
And I’m just… stuck.
Ugh, it’s due on Monday
And I’ve barely done any
maybe that’s why I hate it
And the second part of it requires reference to a text that I only identified today, and can’t get from the library until Sunday.
I want to do it, but I can barely look at it.
I’ve tried to force myself into it the last 4 days
and I’ve collected quite a bit of information
but i just can’t… make sense of it.
Maybe because it seems so big
it reminds me of my thesis that I didn’t complete. Even though that was 15000 words, and this is just 2500.
It feels the same.
But I need to get 1500w done tonight if I want to stay sane.
So I can write the other 1000w after getting the textbook tomorrow.
So that I have time to visit Caroline to work on choreography on Monday.
I don’t remember ever feeling less enthusiastic about an assignment as I do about this one.
